Chiropractic Injuries
We all run into varying forms of pain in our body from playing sports, to working out in the garden, or something as little as moving the couch. Injuries to our body happen all the time and getting them treated and your body properly aligned can prevent the injuries from getting worse over time. The last thing you want to do is neglect something and have it turn into a much more serious injury.
Chronic Lower Back Pain
There is usually a reason which can be diagnosed with a thorough exam and X-rays. If necessary I will order X-rays to diagnose your pain and they are reviewed by the top chiropractic radiologist in town, who trained me in X-rays in the early 80’s. This allows for two doctors to review your X-rays and work together to properly diagnose what is causing your lower back pain. I have had a few patients that were getting better but not as fast as I wanted. With the help of the X-ray reports, I can add specific adjusting and exercises to reverse their problem.
Chronic Neck Pain
Neck pain can be due to many causes, including poor work, study posture, old injuries like landing on your head as a child, physical abuse either from accidents and injuries that were not treated or abuse when you were younger. A forward head posture causes enormous problems because every 10 degrees forward head posture adds 10 pounds of extra weight on our neck and upper back. (many years spent working over a desk or computer without much exercise to balance it out?) Usually these require rehab exercises as well as adjusting, acupuncture and homeopathy to correct the problem. It’s never too late to correct neck posture at any age and the difference it can make is massive.
Leg, Calf, Knee and Ankle Pain
Unless you recently have had an acute injury, pain in the lower half of your body is almost always involved with the kinetic chain. That means I will need to work on your spine, hip, joint alignment as well as the local joints. Treatment almost always involves adjustment, muscle repair, homeopathic remedies, home exercises, and analysis of how you are creating this problem. It can be resolved and stabilized for the long term with a proper treatment plan.
Sacroiliac Joint Pain
Your Sacroiliac joints are integrally involved with the entire spine and nervous system. The joint is located in the lower back on each side of the spine connecting the sacrium in the middle of your buttox and the two large illiac bones and is the major weight bearing bone of your body. Structurally they mirror and reflect a joint in the cranium called the sphenobasilar joint, this is the joint located in your skull but controls the balance of all your cranial bones. A sprain to the Sacroilian joint means some of the ligaments have been torn and can be extremely painful.
Headaches
Headaches are so common in today’s world we don’t always consider them a problem. There can be many underlying reasons that you are getting theses headaches. The most common reason people get headaches is related to food allergies, something as simple as dairy or gluten can throw your body out of sync. Frequently your headaches are related to muscle spasms, inflammation (caused by something, typically food allergies), airborne allergies, TMJ dysfunction and pain, as well as dental malocclusion; which can be subtle but throws continual stress to the cranial bones, TMJ joint, which is affecting your entire spine and sacroiliac joint. At Maximum Health Clinic we look for the core reason that are triggering your headaches. Once we determine the core problem a combination of lifestyle changes as well in tandem with adjustment can get you past these frequent headaches.
Carpel Tunnel Syndrome
You can have wrist pain after an accident that does not resolve and end up having to go through surgery due to a diagnosis of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Whereas usually it means the bones are out of place causing ongoing inflammation. Surgery is not a solution and in the end, wont resolve the core problem. A forceful grip on the steering wheel during the accident can cause joint rigidity and stress on the wrist. I know this from my extensive experience with this type of injury and can determine the exact angle needed to adjust with muscle testing.
One of my patients came in to see me who had recently been in an auto accident with an injury to her wrist and ended up having surgery for it. The surgery did not relieve the pain, it took the correct adjustments to her wrist bones, paired with kinesio tape to help stabilize the bones which resolved her pain. This was two years past the accident and surgery.
I have never failed to resolve carpel tunnel for my patients. It always involves adjusting which can involve the arm, elbow, wrist, neck, muscles and the nerve roots that connect them all. As well as sometimes acupuncture and homeopathy, anti-inflammatories and in some cases diet change.
